Remedy Entertainment's goal is to push the boundaries of the gaming industry. Inspired by the work of Naughty Dog, especially their iconic Uncharted series, the team at Remedy aspires to be "the European counterpart of this iconic firm," according to Kyle Rowley, the director of the Alan Wake 2 video game. During an interview on the Behind The Voice podcast, Rowley shared how Naughty Dog's influence shaped the development of Quantum Break and subsequently Alan Wake 2. "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," he emphasized.
This ambition is reflected in Alan Wake 2's cinematic style, which is renowned for its stunning graphics and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's status as one of Europe's premier game development studios. However, Remedy's vision extends beyond just horror games. Naughty Dog has set the standard for single-player cinematic experiences with titles like Uncharted and The Last of Us, which are integral to the PlayStation legacy and among the most acclaimed franchises ever.
Even over a year since its launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive regular updates that enhance gameplay across various platforms. These updates bring a range of improvements, with a significant focus on optimizing the game for the PS5 Pro. A new "Balanced" graphics option has been introduced, which combines the benefits of the PS5 Pro Performance mode and PS5 Pro Quality mode. Additionally, minor tweaks to the graphic settings have been made to ensure a consistent framerate and a less noisy image. Alongside these enhancements for the PS5 Pro, the update also addresses several minor bugs that impact gameplay, particularly in the Lake House expansion.
