Stats Reveal Lack of Trust in Marvel Rivals' Ranked Mode Among Players

Recent statistics regarding the rank distribution in *Marvel Rivals* on PC have surfaced on social media, sparking both intrigue and concern. The most striking detail lies within the Bronze tier. Every player who reaches level 10 is automatically placed in Bronze 3, after which they must participate in ranked matches to progress further.

Marvel Rivals rank distribution

In most competitive titles, climbing from Bronze 3 to Bronze 2 is typically a smooth process. Game developers usually design ranking systems based on a Gaussian or bell curve model, where the majority of players cluster around the middle tiers—such as Gold. Under this system, lower ranks like Bronze are positioned at the edges, and players are naturally "pulled" toward the center. This means each win tends to grant more points than a loss, encouraging upward mobility.

However, in *Marvel Rivals*, the data shows that there are approximately four times as many players in Bronze 3 compared to Bronze 2. This indicates that the current rank distribution deviates significantly from the expected bell curve. Such imbalance suggests that many players may not be actively engaging with the ranked system—or worse, losing interest altogether.

While several factors could explain this trend, it may serve as an early warning sign for NetEase. A stagnant or disinterested player base in the lower tiers can impact long-term retention and community engagement. As the game continues to evolve, monitoring these metrics will be crucial for maintaining a healthy and thriving competitive environment.
