ArtClash was created to inspire daily practice in drawing, sketching, and cartooning.
It's currently in active development, with the first game mode ready and more content coming soon.
Freely draw anything you like, or select from various topics and series. Apply optional constraints such as time limits, color restrictions, or canvas size. Create your artwork and earn points when others correctly guess your prompt!
This is a solo project, built for my wife and me to practice daily while encouraging others to do the same.
Current Features:
• Paint - Sketch, Paint, and Blend
• Import images to use as references or paint directly over them
• Select topics and constraints, create your drawings, and earn points for each correct guess
• Six difficulty levels for topics - from single words to combinations of up to five different words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)
• Choose from three constraint types for bonus points: time limits, color restrictions, or canvas size
• Free draw anything you imagine and share it with the community
• NSFW filter option, allowing you to view others' content marked as not safe for work
Current Early Access Issues/Bugs:
• Basic UI: The Unity interface has been challenging, with plans to replace it with more responsive XAML
• Performance tip: Keep canvases under 1024x1024 on lower-end devices. While our brush engine is GPU-accelerated, large canvases with small brushes may slow performance. We're testing alternatives and working on significant speed improvements.
Upcoming Features:
• Additional game modes (starting with drawing "telephone")
• Enhanced social features (custom avatars, comment systems on projects and completed games, friend connections, follower networks)
• Improved UI and faster brush engine (addressing current limitations)
• Marquee selection tool and transformation capabilities
• Expanded brush library (compatible with custom brush textures, plus user creation and sharing)
• Advanced layer system (current basic layering will evolve with transparent pixel locking, masking, and more)
• Developer communication platform: Submit feature requests, report bugs, and vote on upcoming changes with the community
• Moderator system: Community members can help moderate flagged content and maintain platform quality
• User submissions for topics and constraints: Contribute your ideas to be added after moderation
• Future expansion to full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping
Given current performance considerations with large textures and ongoing feature development, ArtClash focuses on social competition and creative encouragement rather than comprehensive image editing at this stage.
