CDPR Addresses Gameplay Critique in The Witcher 3

While The Witcher 3 enjoys widespread acclaim, its action RPG mechanics weren't without flaws. Even dedicated fans acknowledged shortcomings in the combat system.

In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, addressed specific gameplay weaknesses. He highlighted the need for significant enhancements to both core gameplay and the monster hunting experience, stating: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."

Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should effectively communicate the weight and impact of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.

The Witcher 4 is poised for a substantial combat overhaul. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) acknowledges the areas needing the most improvement compared to previous Witcher titles. These improvements are likely to carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the upcoming trilogy.

Furthermore, developers plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest was originally intended for Novigrad. The storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt assists with preparations, tasks including monster extermination in the canals, acquiring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift.
