Baldur's Gate 3 Anniversary Stats
Romance in the Forgotten Realms
Larian's anniversary stats reveal romance was a significant aspect of many players' journeys. A staggering 75 million companion kisses were shared! Shadowheart reigned supreme with 27 million kisses, followed by Astarion (15 million) and Minthara (169,937). Act 1's celebratory night saw 32.5% of players choosing Shadowheart, 13.5% Karlach, and 15.6% opting for solitude. By Act 3, Shadowheart's popularity continued, with 48.8% experiencing her final romance scene, compared to 17.6% with Karlach and 12.9% with Lae'zel.
The more adventurous among us saw 658,000 players enjoying intimate moments with Halsin—70% in human form, 30% bear form. An impressive 1.1 million players engaged with the Emperor, with 63% choosing the Dream Guardian form and 37% embracing the mind flayer tentacles experience.
Fun and Fanciful Feats
Beyond epic battles, players indulged in whimsical activities. 1.9 million players became cheese wheels, a testament to the game's playful mechanics. Friendly dinosaurs received 3.5 million visits, while 2 million players freed Us from the Colony. Even the Dark Urge showed a softer side, with at least 3,777 players finding a way to spare Alfira, contributing to the game's lute rock scene.
Animal companions were cherished: Scratch the dog received over 120 million pets (likely due to his perfect fetch!), and the Owlbear Cub over 41 million. A curious parallel: 141,600 players attempted to pet His Majesty, the cat—the same number who conquered Honour Mode.
Character Class and Race Preferences
While the pre-made characters are charming, a remarkable 93% of players created custom avatars. Among the pre-made, Astarion (1.21 million players), Gale (1.20 million), and Shadowheart (0.86 million) were most popular. Interestingly, 15% of custom avatars were based on the Dark Urge.
The Paladin class dominated, with almost 10 million players. Sorcerers and Fighters followed closely, each exceeding 7.5 million. Other classes—Barbarian, Rogue, Warlock, Monk, and Druid—had significant representation, though fewer than 7.5 million. Rangers and Clerics trailed behind, with Rangers at 5 million and Clerics below that.
Elves were the most popular race (over 12.5 million), followed by Half-Elves and Humans (both at 12.5 million). Tieflings exceeded 10 million, with Drow and Dragonborn surpassing 7.5 million. Half-Orcs, Githyanki, and Dwarves each had over 2.5 million selections, while Gnomes and Halflings had fewer than 2.5 million.
Specific class-race combinations emerged: Dwarves favored Paladins (20%), Dragonborn Sorcerers, Halflings Bards and Rogues, Gnomes Bards and Druids, and Tieflings Paladins, Barbarians, and Warlocks.
Epic Achievements and Surprising Outcomes
141,660 players conquered Honour Mode, a testament to their skill. Conversely, 1,223,305 playthroughs ended in defeat—76% deleting saves, 24% continuing in custom mode.
Moral choices were significant: 1.8 million betrayed the Emperor, 329,000 convinced Orpheus to live as a mind flayer, and 3.3 million killed the Netherbrain (200,000 with Gale's sacrifice). A rare outcome saw 34 players experiencing Avatar Lae'zel's self-sacrifice after Vlaakith's rejection.
Baldur's Gate 3's anniversary stats paint a vibrant picture of player choices, from grand achievements to humorous moments, highlighting the diverse and engaging experience within the Forgotten Realms.
