Without a doubt, Russian scanwords are a unique phenomenon globally. You won't find as many literary clues, witty questions, or puzzles reflecting current world events in any other language. All this is packed into classic crosswords, which might seem surprising. Russians are a people of the word. They cherish their language, honor their word, and treat it as something truly precious.
The scanwords in the app are diverse—ranging from simple to complex, featuring photos, classic clues, or associative hints like "one word" or "one word, two words," similar to Elder Fur's style. Every magazine includes one English-Russian scanword and one "holey" puzzle—you'll quickly see why it's called that. Each page is welcomed by a character from our cheerful family. Come join us!
All scanwords are free for readers. This is an annual collection: 52-53 issues, each containing 20 scanwords. A full year's worth will take up about 50 MB on your phone—images are small, and text is just text. We respect your phone's storage.
No internet connection is needed to solve puzzles once the magazines are on your device. A new issue is published every Friday. If you keep the "notification" option enabled, you'll get a weekly reminder every Friday at 12:00 local time. Opening the app triggers an automatic download of the new issue, which won't repeat if successful. You can also download or delete any magazine individually, or use "Settings" to download all issues with one tap.
The core features, including access to all scanwords, are free in the app. The advertiser covers the costs. They are allowed one narrow banner per page plus one interstitial ad shown before opening a scanword. Our advertiser does not interrupt your solving flow. They also generously reward readers with free hints for watching their videos.
Any reader can choose to "interrupt" the advertiser by: a) disabling ads permanently, b) subscribing to turn off ads for the subscription period and get unlimited hints, or c) purchasing hints in bulk. All these options are displayed in the "Shop."
Privacy Policy:
1) We use the standard Android advertising identifier solely for ad placement and performance analysis. This identifier may be linked to personally identifiable information or persistent device identifiers (like SSAID, MAC address, or IMEI) only with your explicit consent;
