Tongits is traditionally a three-player game using a standard 52-card deck. The goal is to minimize your hand's value by creating and playing melds (sets and runs). Victory is achieved by emptying your hand ("Tongits"), having the lowest hand value when the draw pile is depleted ("Draw"), or winning a challenge ("Fight").
Gameplay:
- Setup: Each player starts with 12 cards (dealer gets 13), with the remaining cards forming the draw pile.
- Turns: Players take turns clockwise, drawing a card from either the draw or discard pile. They then form melds (sets of three or four same-rank cards, or runs of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) and discard a card.
- Winning: Win by "Tongits" (emptying your hand), "Draw" (lowest hand value when the draw pile is exhausted), or winning a challenge initiated by another player.
