After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally hit the scene, and it's absolutely stunning. We're thoroughly enjoying the game, but for newcomers to the MMORPG genre, it can be a bit overwhelming. Fear not! We've put together a comprehensive guide to help you embark on your *Rune Slayer* journey with confidence.

Here are some invaluable tips we wish we'd known from the start to make your early gameplay smoother.

Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

Upon hearing about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we were initially apprehensive, fearing a chaotic free-for-all. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that's not entirely the case. **When you die in *Rune Slayer*, you don't lose anything**—not even to other players. You simply respawn and continue playing.

However, there's a twist: **if you attack other players, you'll gain a bounty**. The more players you kill, the larger your bounty grows, and consequently, **the more items you'll drop upon your next death**. Essentially, you can only experience full-loot PvP by initiating attacks and then getting taken down yourself.

Therefore, our advice is to **avoid attacking other players** unless you have a compelling reason or a group of friends to support you in your endeavors.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly discover that **both your bank space and inventory are quite limited**. With a capacity of just 50 items, your inventory can fill up alarmingly fast. To address this, **the game allows you to craft bags**. You can equip up to two bags simultaneously, and the first one you can craft is a **Cotton Bag**.

To make a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**. Be cautious in the southern regions due to aggressive mobs. Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting these as soon as possible.

Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

It's a common misunderstanding that when your tamed pets reach zero health, they die permanently. This isn't the case at all. **When your pet "dies," it simply cannot be summoned for 5 minutes**. You can **check the cooldown by holding T**. Once the cooldown period ends, hold T again to summon your pet back into action.

Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, **store and unstore it at the stable master**. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* features an abundance of quests, most of which are non-repeatable and somewhat generic, typically involving tasks like "Kill 10 X." Given their similarity and the likelihood that you won't read each one in detail, **accept every quest you encounter**. This includes those from the Job board. It's much more efficient to tackle multiple quests simultaneously, and you might even find yourself completing several at once. We were surprised to discover we had multiple quests ready to turn in upon returning to Wayshire.

Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

While you should prioritize crafting what you need, don't hesitate to use **spare materials to craft items you don't immediately require**. The reason? **Crafting items for the first time often unlocks new, more powerful crafting recipes**. For instance, smelting our first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor recipes. So, be liberal with your materials and craft away.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is accommodating for solo players, but as you delve deeper into the game, you'll encounter **challenging enemies** designed for group combat, especially those with large health bars. The simplest way to find a group is by **joining a guild**.

Whether you announce your need for a guild in the general chat or seek one through the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server, finding a group of allies will significantly enhance your ability to tackle tougher foes.

**And that's all there is to it. Enjoy your time with *Rune Slayer*, and if you haven't yet, be sure to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community interaction.**
