Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially priced at $19.99, the skin was later revealed to be a free reward for watching a Twitch stream. This angered many players who had already purchased it.

The Cyber DJ skin was available in the in-game store for $19.99. However, Blizzard subsequently announced a February 12th event where viewers watching a Twitch broadcast for an hour would receive the skin at no cost. This unexpected shift led to widespread player frustration and demands for refunds. While the skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard hasn't addressed refund requests.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced criticism for selling cosmetic items and then offering them for free through promotions. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about fairness and transparency in the game's monetization practices.

Facing stiff competition, particularly from Marvel Rivals, Blizzard is planning a significant overhaul of Overwatch 2's gameplay. A special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th will unveil new maps, heroes, and other content. Blizzard will also host prominent streamers at their headquarters to preview upcoming updates.
