Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

Author : Anthony Mar 29,2025

Bennett has long been hailed as one of the most valuable characters in *Genshin Impact*, maintaining his relevance and utility since the game's inception. His versatility and effectiveness have made him a staple in numerous team compositions. However, with the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, many players are wondering if she could be the new "Bennett replacement." Let's delve into how Iansan's kit stacks up against Bennett's.

How Does Iansan’s Kit Compare to Bennett’s in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan, serves as a support character, much like Bennett. Her Elemental Burst, "The Three Principles of Power," is crucial for buffing other characters. However, her method differs from Bennett's static field; Iansan summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character and boosts ATK based on her Nightsoul Points.

If Iansan has fewer than 42 out of 54 maximum Nightsoul Points, the ATK bonus scales off both her Nightsoul Points and ATK. Once she reaches 42 or more Nightsoul Points, the ATK bonus increases and scales purely off her ATK, emphasizing the importance of building her with ATK in mind. The unique aspect of Iansan's scale is that it requires the active character to move, logging the distance traveled and restoring Nightsoul Points based on that distance.

In terms of healing, Bennett outshines Iansan significantly, with his field healing up to 70% of the active character's HP, whereas Iansan's healing capabilities are less potent. Moreover, Iansan cannot heal herself, unlike Bennett. Another key difference is elemental infusion; Bennett can infuse Pyro into the active character's Normal Attacks at C6, a feature Iansan lacks.

For exploration, Iansan offers unique advantages. She can consume Nightsoul Points to sprint without using stamina and jump longer distances, enhancing exploration. However, for Pyro-centric teams, Bennett remains superior due to Elemental Resonance, which provides a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

Iansan and Bennett share many similarities, making her seem like his long-lost sister. However, rather than replacing him outright, Iansan serves as a strong alternative, particularly for secondary team compositions in Spiral Abyss that require a similar support role.

One of Iansan's major advantages is the freedom of movement. Unlike Bennett's requirement to stay within his field for buffs, Iansan's Kinetic Scale encourages players to move their active character, offering a fresh gameplay style.

If you're interested in trying out Iansan, you'll have the chance during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, launching on March 26.
