EA has introduced microtransactions to Skate during its latest alpha testing phase, paving the way for an upcoming release date announcement.
As reported by Insider Gaming, developer Full Circle has implemented in-game purchases within Skate's ongoing closed alpha test. Players can now spend real money on 'San Van Bucks,' a virtual currency used for unlocking cosmetic items. This move appears focused on testing the game's transaction system, with developers emphasizing their goal to "deliver a positive purchasing experience in the Skate store."
"Your feedback will be crucial in refining the experience before Early Access launch," the developer message states.
Insider Gaming notes that Full Circle has informed testers about an upcoming progress wipe before Early Access begins. Any purchased San Van Bucks will be refunded to player accounts when Early Access launches.
