Funcom, developers of Dune Awakening, have committed to restoring player bases and equipment affected by the problematic update. In a July 9 statement on X (formerly Twitter), the studio detailed their recovery efforts while directing players to their official website for comprehensive updates.
The July 7 patch, while implementing modifications to the Deep Desert region, inadvertently enabled PvP combat in designated PvE zones. This unexpected change resulted in widespread player asset loss, creating community uproar.
Funcom clarified these changes weren't intended for immediate implementation, expressing regret for the disruption. "Our team is prioritizing vehicle and item restoration for affected players," the statement read. "Compensated materials and components will appear in-game through the 'Claim Rewards' system by week's end."
The development team acknowledged limitations in their restoration tools while promising continued improvements.
