The release of Days Gone Remastered is approaching, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features planned for the enhanced version of the game. One standout feature is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when things get intense.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, outlined the various accessibility enhancements coming to Days Gone Remastered. A key feature is the adjustable Game Speed, which players can set from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This option is designed to assist players who find high-pressure situations challenging.
"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. He highlighted that with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, making these unique combat experiences more accessible was a priority.
In addition to Game Speed adjustments, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility options, including customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be introduced to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some options like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising additional enhancements such as an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, alongside the accessibility features. This remastered edition of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game centered around a biker's journey is set to launch soon.
Mark your calendars for April 25, 2025, when Days Gone Remastered will be available. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
