Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Team Considering Switch 2 Version
Calls the Idea "Intriguing"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 could lead developer Sandfall Interactive to pursue a Nintendo Switch 2 edition. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future direction following the game's strong debut.
He explained that the game's achievements "transform everything" and that the team is evaluating their next steps. Broche noted, "Given the game's success, we're in a completely new situation now."

When questioned about a Switch 2 release, he mentioned the studio is currently exploring numerous opportunities and determining which paths to pursue. "It's too early to make definitive announcements, but we're suddenly presented with more possibilities than we can immediately handle. While we're still deciding which opportunities to chase, a Switch 2 version certainly presents an appealing option," Broche elaborated.
With the Switch 2 launch approaching, it would be fitting for this year's highest-rated game to also appear on the most anticipated handheld platform. Still, players will need to wait for official confirmation about whether they'll experience this Belle Époque-inspired RPG on Nintendo's upcoming device.
Official Merchandise Still in Planning Stages
Sandfall Interactive continues to receive numerous requests and opportunities, including popular demand for official plush toys of the beloved character Esquie. The studio clarified that they haven't authorized any merchandise yet and cautioned players about counterfeit products circulating online. Through a May 14 social media post, they alerted fans about suspicious websites selling unauthorized Esquie plushies, emphasizing that "any third-party retailers offering Esquie plushies lack official licensing."
The studio also highlighted that these unauthorized products often feature AI-generated artwork and advised against purchasing them, noting they might be fraudulent. However, they confirmed they're actively developing official Esquie plushies for fans.

Their announcement stated, "Here's some positive news to offset the cautionary note: we're working on creating official Esquie plushies and hope to make them available as quickly as possible. Please remain patient during this process and avoid falling victim to scams."
Fan enthusiasm for Expedition 33 continues to grow, and based on Sandfall's recent communications, official merchandise appears to be in development.
