Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode. Following negative feedback, the studio has reverted a change that extended the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This reversal aims to restore the fun and rewarding gameplay experience players expect.

The January 3rd update, introducing Directed Mode to the Citadelle des Morts map, significantly altered the zombie spawn delay. This alteration hampered kill farming and camo challenge completion, prompting community backlash. Treyarch acknowledged the negative reception and swiftly acted to rectify the situation.

The January 9th patch notes confirmed the reversal of the spawn delay change, returning it to approximately 20 seconds at most after five looped rounds. In addition to this key adjustment, the update includes various bug fixes for Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts, addressing issues with quest progression and glitches related to stamps. Further fixes target visual effects glitches and crashes associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud.

Significant buffs were also implemented for the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, boosting activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies. The cooldown timer was also reduced by 25%, enhancing the mod's overall effectiveness.

The patch notes also preview Black Ops 6 Season 2, launching January 28th, which will include further bug fixes and adjustments. Players are encouraged to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.
