Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer
If you're a seasoned archer, you might want to skip this section, but if you're new to the class, read on. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from enemies, letting your arrows speak for you. While Archers excel at dealing damage, they are less resilient when it comes to taking hits.
Archers wear Medium armor, which offers more protection than Light armor but less than Heavy armor. Unlike Magicians or Priests who can use protective spells, Archers rely on team support and their Pets to absorb damage. Tamed Pets are crucial for Archers, and while your initial pet options are limited, Archers can eventually access unique pets, setting them apart as one of the most formidable classes in the game.
How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer
At Level 30, all classes in Rune Slayer choose a subclass. For Archers, the options are Sharpshooter or Beast Tamer. Choose Beast Tamer as soon as you reach this level.
Currently, there's little reason to opt for Sharpshooter. While firing multiple arrows sounds appealing, it pales in comparison to the Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability, which allows you to tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially, Mud Crabs. With stronger pets, Beast Tamers are robust enough to solo many group activities.
