Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a co-branded headset.
The allegations, made by former Twitch employee Cody Conners, claim Dr Disrespect engaged in inappropriate conduct involving a minor via Twitch's Whispers feature. These claims prompted a significant backlash, leading Turtle Beach to publicly end its association. The company's website has already removed Dr Disrespect's merchandise.
This isn't the first partnership casualty. Midnight Society, a game studio co-founded by Dr Disrespect, also terminated its relationship with him earlier this week, citing a shift in perspective after the allegations emerged. While initially believing in his innocence, Midnight Society ultimately decided to part ways.
Dr Disrespect vehemently denies the allegations, asserting his innocence and claiming the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020. He's also announced a temporary break from streaming, possibly extending his planned vacation in light of the current situation. The duration of his hiatus and future plans remain uncertain.
