Peni Parker Swings into Marvel Snap: A New Ramp Card with a Twist

Following Galacta and Luna Snow, Peni Parker from the acclaimed Spider-Verse films joins the Marvel Rivals themed cards in Marvel Snap. Similar to Luna Snow, Peni Parker is a ramp card, but with a unique mechanic.

Understanding Peni Parker's Gameplay

Peni Parker is a 2-cost, 3-power card with the ability: "On Reveal: Add SP//dr to your hand. When this merges, you get +1 Energy next turn."

SP//dr, a 3-cost, 3-power card, has the ability: "On Reveal: Merge with one of your cards here. You can move that card next turn."

This card combination can be initially confusing. Essentially, Peni Parker adds SP//dr to your hand, allowing you to strategically reposition a card on the board. Crucially, merging any card with Peni Parker grants you +1 energy on your next turn. This isn't limited to SP//dr; cards like Hulk Buster and Agony also trigger this bonus. The extra move from SP//dr is only active the turn after merging and is a one-time effect.

Top Peni Parker Decks on Launch

Mastering Peni Parker requires time and practice. Her 5-energy cost for the merge and extra energy makes her a significant investment. However, she synergizes well with certain cards, particularly Wiccan. Here are two example deck lists:

Deck 1 (Wiccan Synergy):

Quicksilver, Fenris Wolf, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Peni Parker, Quake, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Red Guardian, Gladiator, Shang-Chi, Wiccan, Gorr the God Butcher, Alioth

This deck is flexible, allowing for substitutions based on your meta and collection. The core strategy involves playing Quicksilver and a 2-cost card (ideally Hawkeye/Kate Bishop or Peni Parker) to set up Wiccan's effect. This enables you to play Gorr and Alioth before the end of the game, creating multiple win conditions.

Deck 2 (Scream Move Strategy):

Agony, Kingpin, Kraven, Peni Parker, Scream, Juggernaut, Polaris, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Spider-Man, Cannonball, Alioth, Magneto

This deck utilizes a move-style strategy, manipulating your opponent's cards. Kraven and Scream are key for lane control, while Peni Parker's merge allows you to play both Alioth and Magneto in a single game. This deck requires advanced planning and prediction.

Is Peni Parker Worth the Investment?

Currently, Peni Parker might not be worth immediate Collector's Tokens or Spotlight Cache Keys. While a generally useful card, she doesn't currently stand out as exceptionally powerful in the Marvel Snap meta. Her cost-effectiveness needs improvement. However, her potential will likely increase as the game evolves.
