Metaphor: ReFantazio's expansive party: A complete guide to recruitment timing.
Beyond the protagonist, seven companions will join your adventure in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing unique combat capabilities. While Gallica is present from the outset, her initial combat role is limited.
Spoiler Warning: This guide reveals the recruitment dates of each party member. Reading ahead may spoil some plot points.
Each party member's arrival is tied to specific story events, detailed below. Note that some later additions may be surprising.
Each Party Member and Their Recruitment Date
Each party member awakens to a unique Archetype, usable by any party member once unlocked. Early recruits may be initially AI-controlled, unlike later members who awaken just before their first combat appearance.
Storhl (Warrior)
Storhl joins on June 5th during the Border Fort events, but his Archetype activation occurs the following day, June 6th, at the Nord Mines. Until then, he's AI-controlled.
Grius
Grius joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes combat-ready on June 6th. While you can summon an Archetype for Grius after Storhl's awakening, he doesn't undergo a traditional Archetype awakening.
Hulkenberg (Knight)
Hulkenberg interacts with the party starting June 10th, but fully joins, with her Archetype awakened, during the boss fight on June 11th.
Heismay (Thief)
Heismay's introduction is during your free time in Martira, primarily a linear segment. His Archetype awakening and party integration occur on July 4th within the town's main dungeon.
Junah (Masked Dancer)
Junah's presence is felt throughout the game, but her awakening and party entry happen on August 13th.
Eupha (Summoner)
Eupha's recruitment offers more flexibility. During Viraga Island's free time (August 19th - September 4th), complete the Dragon Temple Dungeon. Eupha joins for the final boss on whichever day you complete the dungeon; however, her Bond becomes available only after the deadline.
Basilio (Berserker)
Basilio awakens and joins the party on September 11th during the Saint's Day events. However, combat usage is only possible the following day (optional).
