Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024. This isn't entirely unexpected for many players, following a similar fate experienced by Naruto Blazing.
The game, launched in 2017, enjoyed a nearly seven-year run. Before its end-of-service (EOS), several events are planned: the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). Players can continue to collect cards, participate in summons, and utilize in-game items until the shutdown date. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
The game's decline appears linked to several factors. While initially boasting a balanced system allowing village building and strategic defense, the introduction of Minato Namikaze and subsequent power creep significantly altered the gameplay balance. This, coupled with increasingly prominent pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features, led to a gradual player exodus.
Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to experience it before its closure. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Wings Of Heroes' latest update featuring Squadron Wars.
