Mastering Support in Marvel Rivals: A Tier List of Strategist Characters
Marvel Rivals boasts a diverse roster of iconic characters, but while damage dealers often steal the spotlight, strategic support characters are crucial for team survival. S Tier
Mantis excels at healing and buffing allies. Her orb-consuming abilities provide both healing and damage boosts, regenerating automatically over time or instantly recoverable via headshots. While fragile, her effectiveness is amplified by skillful headshot execution, making her accessible to both beginners and experienced players. Her damage output is limited, however.
Luna Snow, another top-tier strategist, offers both healing and offensive capabilities. Her Ice Art ability enhances both healing and damage, while her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, provides AoE healing or damage depending on positioning. Her ease of use and focus on positioning make her ideal for new players, though her damage potential remains secondary to her support role.
A Tier
Adam Warlock stands out with his multi-teammate revive ability. His Quantum Zone Ultimate revives fallen allies with temporary invincibility, even allowing for multiple revives of the same character. His Avatar Life Stream heals, and Soul Bond shares damage across allies while providing a heal-over-time effect.
Cloak & Dagger offers a blend of healing and damage. Cloak's attacks can heal allies or damage opponents, and she boasts self-sustaining healing. Dagger focuses on damage and applying Vulnerability debuffs. Dark Teleportation boosts ally movement speed and provides invisibility.
B Tier
Jeff the Land Shark, despite popularity, lacks the potent healing of higher-tier characters, particularly in extended battles. His straightforward kit pales in comparison to Mantis's orb mechanics or Warlock's revives. He's a decent entry-level support option, though.
Loki is a skilled-based support character. His healing and decoy summoning require precise positioning to maximize effectiveness. His unique Ultimate allows him to shapeshift into any hero for 15 seconds, utilizing their abilities.
Rocket Raccoon prioritizes utility and damage over pure healing. His Respawn Machine revives allies, but his kit leans towards hybrid DPS rather than support. His effectiveness hinges on player skill and he's vulnerable due to his size.
Ultimately, character selection should be driven by personal enjoyment. This tier list offers guidance, but your fun with a particular hero is paramount.
