At the 3rd day of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hosted "Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience." The event, moderated by Linda “VampyBitMe” Le, featured Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Ichiban Kasuga's voice actor, Kazuhiro Nakaya.
During the event, attendees were given a tantalizing hint about the studio's upcoming project: "We can't reveal the game type, but it will surprise you." This was confirmed by @TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter, who also stated that the studio confirmed it as a new addition to the Like a Dragon franchise.
