Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market. The game boasts a blend of missions and game modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Delta Force is a long-standing name in FPS gaming, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's special forces unit, the series is renowned for its realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has meticulously recreated the Delta Force experience. The game features Warfare mode, offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and Operations mode, focusing on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn criticism. While their G.T.I. Security team is dedicated to combating cheating, restrictions imposed on PC hardware and software have been met with negative feedback.
Although the mobile version may experience fewer cheating issues, this initial controversy could still impact player interest. However, the potential for a smoother mobile experience remains.
