Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Issues: Fixing the "Join Failed" Error

Official Screenshot of Adler in Call Of Duty Black Ops 6Many Black Ops 6 players are encountering a frustrating "Join Failed Because You Are on a Different Version" error, preventing them from joining friends' games. This usually indicates an outdated game version.

The first troubleshooting step is to check for updates. Return to the main menu and allow the game to update automatically. However, this doesn't always resolve the problem.

If the error persists, restarting the game is the next logical step. This forces a fresh update check. While this means a short delay, it's a simple fix worth trying.

If restarting fails, a less conventional solution may work: attempting to join a match. While not guaranteed, repeatedly searching for a match and backing out can sometimes resolve the version mismatch and allow your friends to join your party.

This workaround isn't perfect, but it's a viable option when other methods fail.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
