Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely overhauling the Aquarion Tribe. This update revamps the original special tribe, first introduced in 2017, giving it a fresh, aquatic identity.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors. This grants them effortless water traversal, although they're slower on land. A key addition is flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to coexist for the first time.
Buildings have also received an aquatic makeover. Construction on water is now possible, and Lost Cities are hidden within deep-sea ruins, forming ideal underwater bases. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, now a permanent feature, function similarly to land-based crops.
New Aquatic Units Join the Fray
The update introduces exciting new sea creatures: Sharks for surprise attacks, Puffers for long-range bombardment, and Jellies that use electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also feature upgrades; Crabs now flood the tiles they occupy, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See them in action:
