Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed Again

Assassin's Creed Shadows: A March 2025 Release

Ubisoft has announced another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14th launch, this latest postponement aims to further refine and polish the game based on player feedback.

The game's journey to release has been marked by delays. Initially planned for November 15th, 2024, the first postponement, announced in late September, shifted the release to February 14th, 2025. While the initial delay cited the need to improve the game, this second delay explicitly mentions incorporating fan feedback.

Marc-Alexis Coté, Vice President and Executive Producer of the Assassin's Creed franchise, emphasized Ubisoft's commitment to delivering a high-quality, immersive experience. He highlighted the ongoing communication between players and developers as a key factor in the decision. Both delays provide extra time for refining and polishing the game.

Following the September delay, Ubisoft offered pre-order refunds and free access to the first expansion for those who pre-ordered. While no similar compensation has been announced for this latest delay, the shorter timeframe may lessen player frustration.

This additional delay might also be connected to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its practices, launched several months ago. The company aims to make its games more "player-centric," and incorporating fan feedback into Assassin's Creed Shadows aligns with this goal. The delay, coupled with Ubisoft's recent financial challenges, suggests a renewed focus on quality and player satisfaction.
