In Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse has crafted a captivating array of characters, each with distinct personalities and unique combat mechanics. These characters not only enhance the game's narrative but also offer various strategies for team composition and combat effectiveness.

As with any game centered around combat, players are eager to identify the top performers among the Zenless Zone Zero roster. This ZZZ tier list for version 1.0 aims to rank these characters based on their current meta relevance and overall effectiveness.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with frequent character updates evolve with the meta. Initially, Grace was a top-tier choice due to her powerful Anomaly mechanics, but with the introduction of more Anomaly-focused units, her utility has diminished. For instance, Miyabi's dominance in the Anomaly category has shifted the meta, necessitating an update to this Zenless Zone Zero tier list to reflect the current character standings.

S-Tier

S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are the cream of the crop, excelling in their roles and synergizing seamlessly with others.

Miyabi

Miyabi stands out as one of the premier characters in ZZZ, leveraging her swift Frost attacks to deliver massive damage. While she requires some initial setup, mastering her pattern unlocks her full destructive potential on the battlefield.

Jane Doe

Jane Doe surpasses Piper with her superior ability to Crit her Assault Anomaly, significantly boosting her damage output. Despite the slower nature of Anomaly-based attacks, Jane Doe's potent Assault capabilities place her firmly in the S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Yanagi

Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without needing to apply Shock, making her an ideal partner for Anomaly-focused characters like Miyabi. Her ability to activate Disorder on enemies already affected by an Anomaly enhances her utility in ZZZ.

Zhu Yuan

Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, excelling with her swift Shotshell attacks. She synergizes well with Stun and Support characters, particularly Qingyi and Nicole, who help stun enemies and boost her Ether damage while reducing enemy DEF.

Caesar

Caesar redefines the Defense Agent role with exceptional protection, buffs, and debuffs. Her Impact scaling allows her to stun enemies effortlessly, while her crowd control abilities gather foes, cementing her position as a leading support in ZZZ.

Qingyi

Qingyi is a versatile Stunner, fitting well in any team with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and ability to quickly build Daze with Basic Attacks, combined with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a valuable asset. However, she falls slightly short of Lycaon in Ellen teams due to the latter's additional effects for Ice characters.

Lighter

Lighter's role as a Stun Agent is elevated by his notable buffs, particularly when paired with Fire and Ice characters. This synergy propels him to the upper echelons of the ZZZ tier list.

Lycaon

Lycaon's Ice-based Stun abilities are crucial for Anomaly reactions. His capacity to reduce enemies' Ice resistance and boost allies' Daze DMG makes him indispensable in Ice-focused teams within Zenless Zone Zero.

Ellen

Ellen's synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku propels her to the top of the ZZZ tier list. Her Ice-based attacks become devastating when combined with Lycaon's stuns and Soukaku's buffs, allowing her to deal substantial damage.

Harumasa

Harumasa, a free S-Rank Agent, excels as an Electric-Attack character once properly conditioned to unleash his powerful hits in Zenless Zone Zero.

Soukaku

Soukaku is a top-tier Support, enhancing Ice Anomaly through her multiple Icy hits. Her buffs to Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon make her an invaluable asset in Zenless Zone Zero.

Rina

Rina's Support role is highlighted by her ability to deal significant damage while granting PEN to allies, allowing them to bypass enemy defenses. Her Shock Anomaly and buffs make her a strong partner for Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are highly effective in specific combos and generally reliable in their roles.

Nicole

Nicole excels as an Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields to benefit AoE units like Nekomata. Her ability to shred enemy DEF and boost Ether DMG is exceptional, though limited to Ether DPS units.

Seth

Seth is a strong shielder and support, though not as impactful as top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche in supporting Anomaly DPS is notable, but ATK buffers still offer value in Anomaly teams.

Lucy

Lucy's Support abilities include off-field damage and a significant ATK% buff for the team. Her DPS potential increases when synergizing with other characters to activate her Additional Ability in Zenless Zone Zero.

Piper

Piper's gameplay revolves around her powerful EX Special Attack, which can trigger Assault and build Physical Anomaly. This makes her a strong choice for teams focused on Anomaly and Disorder in Zenless Zone Zero.

Grace

Grace's ability to quickly Shock enemies and trigger continuous damage is notable, but the influx of new Anomaly Agents has reduced her prominence. She remains relevant, especially when paired with other Anomaly builders to trigger Disorder.

Koleda

Koleda's Fire/Stun capabilities make her a reliable choice, especially in teams with other Fire characters. Her synergy with Ben adds both utility and flair to her moveset.

Anby

Anby's comedic timing in the story quest is a highlight, but she also holds her own as a reliable Stun unit in combat. Her quick combos and bullet-deflecting ability add utility, though her susceptibility to interruptions holds her back slightly.

Soldier 11

Soldier 11's straightforward mechanics make her easy to play, with her Fire-infused attacks dealing significant damage. While not the most complex, she offers a fun and effective combat experience in Zenless Zone Zero.

B-Tier

B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero offer value but are outshone by higher-ranked characters in their roles.

Ben

Ben's defensive capabilities and ability to parry and punish are fun but limited by his slow combat style and reliance on a Crit Rate buff. His shield offers protection, but mastering dodging is more effective in ZZZ.

Nekomata

Nekomata's AoE damage potential is high, but her effectiveness hinges on team composition. Her reliance on Physical and faction-specific support limits her current standing in the Zenless Zone Zero 1.0 tier list.

C-Tier

C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to enhance team performance.

Corin

Corin's Physical damage output is strong against Stunned enemies, but she competes with more versatile Physical Attack units like Nekomata and Piper, who offer broader utility.

Billy

Billy's quick-swap potential in teams is notable, but his damage output falls short compared to other Attack characters, particularly those dealing Physical damage.

Anton

Anton's continuous Shock damage is interesting, but his lack of overall DPS and single-target focus limits his effectiveness in Zenless Zone Zero.
