To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is letting fans vote on the next official merchandise items! Fans can choose from a whopping 100 options, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but voting can be done on the official website.
The choices range from the expected (like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or a Yakuza-themed pencil case) to the utterly bizarre, drawing inspiration from the series' famously outlandish moments.
Some highlights include Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, the giant traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options represent iconic items from the series, such as Majima's sake cup, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
2025 will see at least one new game launch, Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean, arriving on February 21st. While a second major release this year remains unconfirmed, it's not out of the realm of possibility given RGG Studio's prolific output. In the past five years alone, they've released nine games, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, plus a remastered Virtua Fighter 5.
