Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the in-game housing system set to debut in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion. Although Midnight will follow The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews have sparked considerable anticipation among players due to the promised depth of customization.
A recent developer blog showcased in-game videos demonstrating the intricacies of furniture placement. The system utilizes a grid for item alignment, complete with automatic snapping features. This allows players to not only place larger objects like shelves or tables but also to adorn them with smaller accessories that remain attached during movement.
The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy organization and an Advanced Mode catering to creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players can rotate objects across all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, facilitating the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

Another highlight is the feature allowing object scaling, which ensures that spaces can be tailored to suit different character sizes. Gnomes, for example, may prefer cozier settings, while larger races such as tauren might favor more spacious designs. Additionally, certain furniture pieces designed for the housing system will allow for recoloring, although this feature may not extend to legacy assets.
With the release of Midnight still on the horizon, Blizzard keeps the community engaged by regularly teasing new content, building anticipation and excitement for the future updates of World of Warcraft.
