Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your journey begins in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by offloading any excess loot and arming yourself. In my opinion, a Rifle is an excellent choice here. Priced at just $75, it packs enough punch to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to purchase coal to fuel your boat, which runs on an old-school engine.
The next town is 10,000m away. Simply start your boat and you're on your way. While you can stop to kill and loot Zombies and Drowned, it's not highly recommended due to the limited value in the houses along the route. To restart the ship, just add more coal. Don't be alarmed by the worm on the right side. Wait until the second safe zone to sell your items, but be cautious of Big Foot and Zombie mobs on both sides of the river.
After reaching the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. Clear them out if you're with friends, but solo players might find it a waste of time due to scattered spawn points. Around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned, along with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use these resources wisely.
Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks
By now, you're familiar with the routine—kill, loot, repeat, and hope for enemy defeat. This is the essence of the gameplay loop. To excel, focus on efficiency by using your boat as your primary inventory. Empty your bag when you return to the boat to save time and space.
A key strategy I found useful while crafting this Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to rush out of those backwater towns, efficient loot stacking can make a significant difference. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.
Another tip is to be cautious in Sheriff's offices. These areas often have a higher concentration of mobs, but they also offer substantial rewards in terms of weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun stocked for a long time by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.
Remember to conserve your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at around 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it vulnerable to ambushes. I wouldn't recommend going alone; a group of at least three, ideally five, is best. Be efficient when collecting loot.
Similarly, avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're incredibly strong, require a lot of ammo to defeat safely, and can hit like a truck. Don't linger too long and plan your stops carefully. Remember, loot isn't everything.
The town after 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. With at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, it's perfect if you have friends with Shotguns or a Sawnoff. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prepare the bodies for loading quickly.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails Kraken
Before facing the Kraken, sell everything you have in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't underestimate the Zombies and Drowned. Ensure you have a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during this final stretch of the Dead Sails Kraken guide. You're almost there. At around 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to confront the beast. The sign of its approach is the skies darkening.
As the camera zooms out, the Kraken will emerge from the water. EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can attack and cause damage if not properly repelled. If you have five people on board, form a pentagram-like shape and each person focuses on their own tentacle.
Be cautious of the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage to multiple players. It's telegraphed by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with the tentacle. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.
Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which causes minor damage but is unblockable and seems to slightly buff the boss's damage. You'll recognize it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
As you can see, it's not as hard as it seems. That's the complete rundown of my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To speed through the boss even faster, grab one of our Dead Sails codes and see how far and how fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
