According to a source known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The insider claims that the new game, codenamed Siege X, will be powered by an updated engine featuring enhanced graphics, including revamped textures and models.
Interestingly, Ubisoft might not bring back the temporary events from the original game, opting instead for fresh new events. The release of Rainbow Six Siege 2 is anticipated during the second season of the tenth year of support, slated for mid-2025.
Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel might not be necessary given the ongoing development of the current game. However, if this leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance.
As with any rumor, it's important to approach this news with caution. Until Ubisoft officially confirms these details, it remains speculative.
The Six Invitational 2025, which is the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is just around the corner. Taking place in Boston, twenty teams will vie for a portion of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having won the North American Last Chance Qualifier, rounds out the list of participants.
The tournament's structure with twenty teams is somewhat unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to follow the format from last year—four groups with a round-robin among five teams, leading into a Double Elimination playoff—we might see a surprise format change.
In this setup, the first place team skips the first round, the fourth place team starts in the lower bracket, other teams enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team in each group is eliminated.
