Turtle Beach has unveiled the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded, an enhanced and somewhat more expensive iteration of its modular, pro-style Victrix Pro BFG controller. This updated model boasts a redesigned fighting game module that the company describes as "ergonomically optimized" supporting a wrist-resting grip for those who favor arcade-style, finger-centric play.
While one of IGN's top fight stick recommendations might still be the superior choice for purists, it's great to have alternatives, and this controller is a solid option. The original Pro BFG already ranks among the best PS5 controllers due to its extensive customization, and that legacy continues here. Similar to its predecessor, the BFG Reloaded offers swappable components like a reversible thumbstick and d-pad, along with various thumbstick and thumb cap choices. It also incorporates drift-resistant Hall effect analog sticks. The rear triggers, also equipped with Hall effect sensors, allow for sensitivity adjustment, and the controller features four mappable back buttons.
The BFG Reloaded is offered in black and white colorways, with dedicated models for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One or for PS5 and PS4. Both variants are compatible with Windows. According to Turtle Beach, a full charge provides up to 20 hours of use with a wireless range of 30 feet. A 3-meter braided USB-C cable is included for wired play, and each controller has a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack.
The original Pro BFG lacked certain features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Regrettably, Turtle Beach's announcement makes no mention of these additions, suggesting they remain absent in the Reloaded version. This is somewhat disappointing given the new controller's price point, which is nearly as high as the haptic-equipped Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra—a model featured on our best Xbox controllers and best PC controllers lists.
The Pro BFG Reloaded is available for pre-order at $209.99, a $10 increase over the standard Pro BFG's $199.99 price tag, with sales in North America starting September 28. It is available for purchase today in the UK (£179.99) and the EU (€199.99).
