TheDarkOne, the owner of Nexus Mods, took to a private Reddit discussion to explain the decision behind the removals. He stressed that both the Trump and Biden mods were taken down simultaneously to maintain neutrality and avoid any accusations of political bias. "We removed the Biden mod on the same day as the Trump mod to avoid bias. But for some reason, YouTube bloggers are silent about it," TheDarkOne noted, pointing out the perceived disparity in media coverage.
However, the fallout from this decision did not stop there. TheDarkOne revealed that following the removal of the mods, he began receiving severe threats and insults. "Today we write death threats, call us pedophiles and all sorts of insults just because someone decided to stir up this topic," he added, highlighting the intense backlash faced by the platform.
