This month celebrates the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the epic conclusion to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, this film marked the last Star Wars movie directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
Anticipation was high for Revenge of the Sith as fans awaited the pivotal moment of Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A key mystery surrounding the film was the fate of the Jedi during the notorious Order 66. This sinister directive from Palpatine commanded the Clone Troopers to turn against and eliminate the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars. With thousands of Jedi in service, it was inevitable that some would escape this purge, beyond just the few known to survive into the Original Trilogy.
In the years since, numerous survivors of Order 66 have been introduced across various canonical Star Wars narratives. We've compiled a list of the top 10 Jedi survivors who have left a significant mark. These individuals ranged from those who survived only briefly after the order was issued to those who lived on for years, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. Each of them managed to continue their fight at least one more day after Palpatine's chilling command, "Execute Order 66."
To clarify, our criteria stipulate that these characters must have been under the Jedi Order's jurisdiction before Order 66, regardless of whether they were a Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. Therefore, we exclude Force-users like Maul and his former master, Palpatine, as well as untrained Force-sensitive individuals like Jod Na Nawood who never officially joined the Jedi Order.
We faced a dilemma regarding Asajj Ventress's inclusion. Trained by Jedi Knight Ky Narec on Rattatak for over 20 years, Ventress was considered a Padawan. However, she never visited Coruscant or met with the Jedi Council before Narec's death and later turned to the Dark Side under Dooku's tutelage. This makes her status as a Jedi somewhat ambiguous, leading us to list her as an honorable mention.
