Inspired by Arthurian legends, Tides of Annihilation casts players as Gwendolyn, a determined young woman who allies with spectral knights to rescue her family and mend a fractured realm.
Set in a ruined contemporary London besieged by supernatural forces, the game pits players against relentless enemy hordes. Towering armored knights dominate the cityscape, requiring players to scale these massive foes for climactic showdowns.
While visually breathtaking, the game faces narrative challenges. Recent soulslike adaptations of classic tales like "Journey to the West" and Lies of P's Pinocchio revision brought fresh perspectives, whereas Arthurian lore feels overly familiar. Despite its artistic merits, Tides of Annihilation struggles to establish a distinctive narrative identity.
