NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the first gameplay footage for the T-1000, the latest DLC guest character for Mortal Kombat 1, along with the announcement of Madam Bo as a new DLC Kameo fighter. The T-1000's moveset pays homage to Terminator 2, featuring iconic attacks like blade and hook arms that resemble those of Baraka and Kabal. A standout moment in the gameplay shows the T-1000 transforming into a liquid metal blob and executing an uppercut similar to Glacius from Killer Instinct.
The T-1000 is voiced by Robert Patrick, reprising his role from the 1991 film, and the teaser showcases his voice during a confrontation with Johnny Cage. The footage culminates in a Fatality that recreates the thrilling truck chase from Terminator 2, with the T-1000 emerging from the vehicle to unleash a barrage of bullets on Cage.
Simultaneously, NetherRealm surprised fans by revealing that Madam Bo, a beloved character from the *Mortal Kombat 1* storyline, will join the game as a Kameo fighter. Known for her role as a resilient restaurant owner who stands up to Smoke and his thugs, Madam Bo's brief gameplay appearance in the teaser shows her assisting the T-1000 during a match against Johnny Cage. The T-1000 will be available in Mortal Kombat 1 starting March 18 for early access to Khaos Reigns owners, with a wider release on March 25. Madam Bo will also be accessible on March 18 as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or as a standalone purchase.
As the final addition to the Khaos Reigns expansion, the T-1000 follows other notable DLC fighters such as Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. While fans speculate about the possibility of a Kombat Pack 3, Warner Bros. Discovery has reaffirmed its commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise.
