Remember SAOVS, the action RPG from Bandai Namco originally launched in November 2022? Sword Art Online Variant Showdown has officially returned after its extended maintenance period that began in September 2023.
The developers originally announced in August 2023 that the maintenance would conclude by summer 2024. However, resolving core technical issues required additional time, ultimately delaying the relaunch by over a year.
Sword Art Online Variant Showdown Returns – What's Changed?
The game's revival introduces Battle Royale Season 1, a new competitive mode where four players battle for the most knockouts in arena matches. Compete in League Matches to earn exclusive Titles and cosmetic accessories available until December 30th.
Longtime players who remained active prior to maintenance receive special rewards through the Returning Player Campaign, including 5 [Sword Spark] Mito Pickup Scout Tickets.
Six major celebration campaigns are currently running, offering players:
- Up to 100 free Scouts
- Daily login bonuses
- Mission-based rewards
The gacha system now features SSR [Sword Spark] Mito, a powerful Light-elemental character, along with new SSR Ability Cards 'Destroyer of Destiny' and 'Seasoned Comrades' available until January 6th, 2025.
