Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets Final Major Content Update

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service Support

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, though servers will remain online.

Released to mixed reception in February 2024, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. Rocksteady announced the end of support on December 9, 2024, with Season 4 Episode 8 as the final update. The decision, while unsurprising given the game's performance, ensures players can still enjoy online features with friends.

Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant new content:

  • Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating enemy damage output.
  • Notorious Weapons: New weapons like The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a powerful area-of-effect ability), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
  • New Mayhem Mission: The final battle against Brainiac.
  • Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
  • Bug Fixes: Numerous bug fixes addressing various gameplay issues, UI elements, audio, and more (see detailed patch notes below).

The December 2024 Season 4 Episode 7 update introduced offline play, allowing players to experience the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, this offline mode provides a fallback option.

For those yet to experience the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

  • The Silencer's Complete Silence: Deals bonus damage to enemies affected by Scales of Libra, with an Alt-Fire creating a Silencer Zone reducing enemy damage.
  • Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets: Piercing bullets applying Scales of Libra and a chance to electrify enemies.
  • Chronos' Equilibrium: Deals increased damage based on missing shield percentage.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES:

  • Reduced Deathstroke's Suicide Strike duration against specific enemies.
