While Split Fiction boasts a linear co-op adventure, it's peppered with delightful detours: Side Stories. These optional adventures, though not essential to the main plot, offer some of the game's most memorable moments. Here's how to find them all.
Finding All Side Stories in Split Fiction
Chapters 2 through 5 each hide three Side Stories (12 in total). While optional, completing them unlocks an achievement and reveals some truly unique gameplay experiences, from becoming pigs to competing in a deadly game show.
Chapter 2
- Legend of the Sandfish: This Side Story is encountered naturally after completing the "Rush Hour" section – you can't miss it.
- Farmlife: Located in the "Streets of Neon" section. It's found after hopping a small barrier, before reaching the elevators on the left.
- Mountain Hike: Found in the "Big City Life" section. Reach the Port-A-Potties; have Mio enter one, then use Zoe to throw her to the opposite ledge with a ladder. Have Mio drop the ladder for access.
Chapter 3
- Train Heist: Located in the "Lord Evergreen" section. While navigating the water with a plank, wall-run to reach a ledge containing the Side Story.
- Gameshow: Found in the "Walking Sticks of Doom" section, on a platform after the side-scrolling sequence. Requires some minor platforming.
- Collapsing Star: Located in the "Halls of Ice" section; it's on the main path and difficult to miss.
Chapter 4
- Kites: Found at the end of the long tube in the "Toxic Tumblers" section.
- Moon Market: In the "Test Chamber" section, on a ledge to the left after the crane sequence; requires some platforming.
- Notebook: The final Chapter 4 Side Story, located in the "Soaring Desperados" section. After acquiring the jetpack, avoid the giant wheel and locate it on the left.
Chapter 5
- Slopes of War: Found in the "Water Temple" section. After hatching your dragons, solve the lever puzzle to the left of the golden balls.
- Space Escape: Located in the "Craft Temple" section. After defeating the dragon, use Mio's glide and Zoe's roll to reach a ledge, then have Mio drop a column for Zoe to climb.
- Birthday Cake: The final Side Story, in the "Treasure Temple" section. Complete the soul puzzle; it's on your left.
Completing all 12 Side Stories unlocks the "Bookworms" achievement in Split Fiction.
