Marvel's animated Spider-Man series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, has received early renewals for both seasons two and three, a testament to its popularity.
Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, recently confirmed the exciting news. He revealed that Season 2's scripts are complete, with half the animatics already finished, even before Season 1's premiere on January 29th. The greenlight for Season 3 further solidifies the show's success.
Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the series, praising lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell's work: "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters...we're halfway through the animatics. What Jeff is building brick by brick starts to pay off...it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons." He also mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss the pitch for Season 3. While release dates for Seasons 2 and 3 remain unannounced, the early production progress suggests a relatively quick turnaround.
The series chronicles Peter Parker's freshman year as he develops his superpowers. Whether subsequent seasons will follow Peter through his high school years or explore other aspects of his early Spider-Man career remains to be seen.
