Sony Releases Updates for PS5 and PS4: Key Features Revealed

Author : Daniel May 28,2025

Sony has rolled out new updates for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, enhancing various features of these popular gaming consoles.

For the PS5, update 25.02-11.00.00, which is approximately 1.3GB in size, introduces several improvements. One key enhancement is the way activities are displayed; now, activity details are fully shown on cards, with potential spoilers cleverly hidden to maintain the excitement of your gaming experience. Additionally, this update brings support for Unicode 16.0 emojis, allowing you to express yourself more vividly in your messages.

Changes have also been made to parental controls. When setting the restriction level to Late Teens or Older, the Communication and User-Generated Content option will automatically default to Restrict. However, if you had previously set this level, your settings will remain as Customize, ensuring your preferences are not overridden.

As always, Sony has focused on improving the system software's performance and stability. They've also enhanced the messages and usability on certain screens, making navigation smoother and more intuitive.
