Sega unleashes a wave of Sonic mobile game updates timed with the imminent release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Across various platforms, including Apple Arcade, App Store, and Google Play, players can expect fresh content inspired by the upcoming film.
First up, Sonic Forces receives a significant update on December 12th, introducing a brand-new Metro-city Zone. This addition features three challenging tracks playable as Movie Shadow, Movie Sonic, and other familiar characters. Complete the levels before seeing the movie for a complete experience.
Following on December 18th, Sonic Dream Team gets an update adding Shadow as a playable character with unique abilities. Unlock him by tackling Tails’ Challenges. Shadow's Chaos Control and Chaos Shift powers offer time-manipulation capabilities, freezing enemies and the environment.
The update also introduces new powers like Quick Grind and Perfect Boost for all characters, plus exclusive upgrades like Double Chaos Shift for Shadow. Six new Shadow-themed statues and music tracks are included, alongside a revamped tutorial for newcomers.
Lastly, Sonic Dash's update arrives on December 20th, allowing players to collect cards to unlock Movie Shadow and Movie Sonic. Daily challenges provide additional rewards. Sonic Dash+, on Apple Arcade, will receive Shadow-themed updates in January.
