Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with the Return of the Originals!
EA and Maxis are throwing a fantastic party for The Sims' 25th anniversary, and you're invited! Today marks the triumphant return of The Sims and The Sims 2 to PC via the Sims: Legacy Collection, Sims 2: Legacy Collection, and the bundled Sims 25th Birthday Bundle (priced at $40).
Both collections boast nearly every expansion and stuff pack ever released. While The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing the 2008 IKEA Home Stuff pack, it's a minor omission considering the sheer amount of content included. Even better? Each collection receives bonus content: The Sims gets the Throwback Fit Kit, and The Sims 2 receives the Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks the first time in over a decade that both games have been readily available digitally. The Sims was originally only available on disc, making it nearly impossible to play on modern systems. The Sims 2 had a brief revival in 2014 with the Ultimate Collection, but that was later removed from EA's Origin store. Now, with these new collections, all four main Sims games are easily accessible through digital storefronts.
Remember our classic reviews? We gave The Sims a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10 back in the day. Though the series has evolved significantly, the originals retain their charm, offering a unique blend of goofy fun, straightforward gameplay, satisfying challenges, and undeniable historical significance.
Dive into nostalgia (or experience these classics for the first time!)—The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
