Ryan Reynolds in Early Talks for Deadpool and X-Men Film

Author : Olivia May 14,2025

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the "early stages" of developing a new Deadpool and X-Men movie. According to THR, Reynolds envisions this film as an ensemble piece where Deadpool, while still a key character, would not be the central focus. Instead, he aims to share the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters, allowing them to take center stage and be "used in unexpected ways."

This project would be distinct from the X-Men movie that Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie is currently working on. Reynolds' approach mirrors the development of Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially started as a low-budget road trip movie before being pitched to Marvel. This isn't the first time Reynolds has been linked to a Deadpool ensemble film, but it provides more insight into the potential adventures of the Merc With a Mouth.

As for which X-Men might join Deadpool, details are still under wraps. However, given Deadpool's history, characters like Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit, who have appeared in previous Deadpool films, could potentially return.
