Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is expanding its retail availability in March 2025, as announced via their official Twitter (X) account. This wider release marks a significant step for the device, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Initially launched with limited availability and requiring a Nintendo Online subscription, Alarmo will now be available at major retailers worldwide, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers, without the subscription requirement. The device is priced at $99.99 USD.
The high demand for Alarmo was evident after its initial October 9th, 2024 release, leading to immediate sell-outs in various locations. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store and transitioned to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Similar high demand was reported in New York City.
Alarmo's popularity stems from its unique features. The alarm clock incorporates charming sound effects and visuals from popular Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, offering 42 selectable scenes with more to be added via free updates.
The alarm experience is interactive. A game character appears on screen, and the alarm's intensity increases gradually, prompting users to get out of bed. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device. Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. For households with multiple occupants or pets, a Button Mode is recommended.
With its expanded release and removal of the Nintendo Online requirement, Alarmo promises to be a fun and engaging alarm clock experience for a wider range of Nintendo fans.
