Pokémon Home: Capture Elusive Shiny Keldeo, Meltan Now!

Shiny Keldeo and Meltan are now available in Pokémon Home (version 3.2.2 and later), but acquiring them requires completing specific tasks. While challenging, obtaining Shiny Keldeo is particularly rewarding, as it was previously unobtainable legitimately and Shiny-locked. Both Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan can then be transferred to other compatible Pokémon games linked to your Home account.

Obtaining Shiny Keldeo in Pokémon Home

To receive Shiny Keldeo, you must complete the Galar Pokédex in Pokémon Sword & Shield, including entries from the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. Crucially, all Pokémon must possess the Galar origin mark, indicating they originated from Sword & Shield or its DLC. Simply completing the Pokédexes in Sword & Shield itself is insufficient. The Galar mark is a slanted Poké Ball logo above each Pokémon's stats. There's no deadline for claiming Shiny Keldeo.

After completing the Pokédexes, select "Mystery Gift" from the main menu (accessed via the three-line menu icon).

Obtaining Shiny Meltan in Pokémon Home

Similarly, obtaining Shiny Meltan requires completing the Kanto Pokédex in Pokémon Home using Pokémon from Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee. These Pokémon must have the Let's Go marker (a Pikachu silhouette above their stats). Once complete, claim Shiny Meltan via the "Mystery Gift" option. There is no time limit for claiming Shiny Meltan.

Troubleshooting Pokédex Registration Issues

Some mobile users experience Pokédex registration problems. To resolve this, clear the Pokémon Home app cache:

1. Open the app and select the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner of the title screen.
2. Choose "Clear Cache."
3. Confirm by tapping "OK." The game confirms that no active data will be deleted.
