Pokemon TCG Pocket has announced new Shining Revelry expansion, arriving later this month

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive in with enthusiasm whenever a new set hits the scene and keep the momentum going as long as there are Emblems to earn from achieving around 40 wins. Once that goal is out of reach, my routine shifts to a more casual pace: I log in daily, open my packs, indulge in a Wonder Pick for the fun of it, and then move on until the next day. This cycle is set to kick off once more with the upcoming expansion, Shining Revelry, slated for release on March 27th.

Shining Revelry promises to add 110 new cards to the game, featuring an array of new Ex Pokemon, Trainer cards, and the stunning art cards that have become a hallmark of the series. The highlight of this expansion, hinted at by its very name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon. These are unique color variants of our beloved creatures; for instance, you'll find Lucario in a striking yellow instead of its usual blue, and Pachirisu with an eye-catching pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, teases us with just a hint of what's to come. A notable addition is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and a powerful attack, Steam Artillery, which inflicts a massive 150 damage. However, it comes with a hefty requirement of five energy. Thankfully, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards in one go, easing the burden.

Another exciting Ex card introduced is Lucario. While it played a more supportive role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is designed for frontline combat. With 150 HP and the ability to use Aura Sphere, which deals 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and an additional 30 damage to an opponent's Benched Pokemon, Lucario is poised to make a significant impact.

The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not groundbreaking, are visually stunning and eagerly anticipated. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on their way, and the beautifully crafted Tatsugiri art rare is a must-have for my digital collection.
