Pokémon Sleep Development Transitioned to Pokémon Works
The Pokémon Company's subsidiary, Pokémon Works, will assume responsibility for the development and future updates of Pokémon Sleep. This marks a shift from the previous developer, Select Button.
From Select Button to Pokémon Works
An in-app announcement revealed the transition, stating that development and operation will gradually move from Select Button to Pokémon Works. The announcement, initially appearing in the Japanese version of the app, lacks confirmation regarding the global app's update timeline.
The impact on the global Pokémon Sleep experience remains uncertain pending further announcements.
Pokémon Works, a relatively new entity formed by The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., aims to "create an experience that makes Pokémon more real." Their involvement with previous Pokémon projects includes contributions to Pokémon HOME. Their shared location in Shinjuku, Tokyo, with ILCA (developers of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl) suggests potential collaborative efforts.
While the specifics of their plans for Pokémon Sleep are yet to be revealed, the transition signifies a new chapter in the game's development.
