Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids!
Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event brings a highly anticipated feature: remote raid pass functionality for Shadow Raids! For the first time, players can participate in Shadow Raids remotely, from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time. This limited-time opportunity allows access to one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids.
This exciting addition offers a chance to catch Pokémon with superior Individual Values (IVs). The event even extends to a special Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. local time), boosting shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and enabling the teaching of the Sacred Fire charged attack. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.
While this is a temporary feature—remote raid passes will be unavailable for Shadow Raids after the event concludes—it addresses a long-standing player request since Shadow Raids were introduced in 2023. The temporary nature of the feature leaves the future of remote Shadow Raids uncertain, but it's a welcome change, especially considering past criticism regarding the in-person requirements for challenging raids. Whether this becomes a permanent addition remains to be seen.
