Pokémon TCG Sees Trainer's Pokémon Return in 2025

In an exciting announcement made during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon has unveiled plans to bring back some beloved features from the early days of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in 2025. The much-anticipated return of "Trainer's Pokémon" was highlighted, along with a teaser trailer showcasing trainers such as Marnie, Lillie, and N.

No Confirmed Official Date Yet

Fans of the Pokémon TCG can eagerly anticipate the revival of "Trainer’s Pokémon." These cards, which were a hallmark of the game's early days, feature Pokémon owned by specific trainers or characters. They are known for their unique abilities and distinctive artwork. Today's showcase included Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram.

The teaser also hinted at the return of Team Rocket, featuring Mewtwo alongside the team's iconic symbol. This has sparked speculation about a potential Team Rocket-themed card set or the reintroduction of Dark Pokémon, known for their more aggressive and "edgier" versions of familiar Pokémon.

Rumors about these Team Rocket cards have been circulating, supported by a retailer listing in Japan and a trademark filing by The Pokémon Company called The Glory of Team Rocket. While nothing has been officially confirmed, fans are hopeful for their imminent addition to the game.
